Old Homestead – America’s oldest continually running steakhouse, open since 1868 – announces the launch of a never-before-seen, inflation-be-damned special: a $99 38 oz. porterhouse for two, starting Tuesday 9/13 at the NYC location in the heart of the Meatpacking District.

This price is unheard of in 2022 for a steak of this cut and quality. With utmost respect to the competition, other establishments such as Peter Luger, Porter House, and Wolfgang’s currently charge anywhere between $165 – $200 for a comparable offering.

Old Homestead is known for its steaks of the highest quality and flavor, and their porterhouse for two is USDA prime, dry-aged beef from renowned butcher Pat LaFrieda. No corners will be cut on the steak’s flavor, quality and preparation.

To promote the special, the third generation owners of Old Homestead, brothers Greg and Marc Sherry, have created a broad-scale advertising campaign pitting their porterhouse pricing against other venerable steakhouses around town, boldly naming names of the restaurants that offer their porterhouse at a much higher price.

Several full-page print ads will run in the New York Post, detailing the competition comparison, followed by digital billboards around the Lincoln Tunnel, :30 ad spots featuring third-generation owners, brothers Greg and Marc Sherry, during TODAY show and NFL game commercial breaks, and an extensive paid social media campaign. The ads will also run as geo-targeted LED ads on top of taxis, which the ad technology will strategically display when a taxi drives near one of Old Homestead’s steakhouse competitors.

“People are feeling the pinch as inflation continues to be an issue,” said co-owner Greg Sherry. “We wanted to do something exciting for our longtime regulars and newcomers alike to share our hospitality and welcome people in for a great night out – whether it’s a special occasion, or if you’ve never visited us before, or if you simply just miss a fantastic steakhouse dinner.”

“You won’t find a better steak anywhere else in NYC, let alone for this price,” adds co-owner Marc Sherry. “We’re very excited to be able to offer this to our guests and hope we can host many New Yorkers soon.”

The $99 porterhouse special will be available Tuesday – Sunday evenings, at the NYC location only.
