Ogden’s Own, an award-winning leading distiller of craft spirits and the largest independently owned distillery in the state of Utah, is putting out a nationwide call for its 2022 group of “Five Husbands” to be featured on this year’s edition of the Five Husbands Vodka bottle. As part of the distillery’s ongoing commitment to celebrating Pride all year long – not only during Pride Month – Five Husbands Vodka is updated each year to feature a new batch of individuals on its label. This year, Ogden’s Own is branching out further than ever to identify its hubbies, opening a call for submissions across the entire US to identify the “Five Husbands” that will appear on 2022’s version of the expression.

Anyone is welcome to apply to be one of the “Five Husbands of 2022,” but in order to be considered, candidates must include photos, a brief story on themselves including any charity & community involvement, fun facts or hobbies, passions and interests, links to any social channels, and their availability to represent Five Husbands Vodka within their community, should they be selected. Above all, applicants must be actively involved and associated with the LBGTQ+ community, and committed to furthering its social causes. Candidates need not identify as male, either. Whether you’re the most beloved Drag Queen in your city, non-binary, or have dedicated your life to advancing LGBTQ+ equality, applicants representing all walks of life are encouraged to throw their hat in the ring. Prospective Husbands must submit their information to info@ogdensown.com for consideration, and the lucky winners will be announced on February 14th because…who doesn’t love Valentine’s Day?

“We’re looking for our Five Husbands to be individuals that wave the rainbow flag with pride no matter who they are, where they live or what they do,” said Mark Fine, President and CEO of Ogden’s Own Distillery. “From the beginning, Five Husbands has been about amplifying the stories of those who make an actionable effort to support the LGBTQ+ community every day of their life. It’s something we’re committed to doing both in our backyard in Utah and across the US, and it’s our mission to identify five like-minded people who would be equally enthusiastic to advocate for their causes on the label of our vodka. We’re excited to get to know our candidates and have a feeling it’ll be a tough decision!”

Championing the LGBTQ+ community and celebrating diversity have been core pillars of Ogden’s Own since the distillery was founded in 2009. Ogden’s Own has served as the official alcohol sponsor of the Utah Pride Festival for several years, and is a long-standing ally of Utah-based LGBTQ+ organizations Equality Utah and the Utah Pride Center.

In 2019, Ogden’s Own introduced Five Husbands Vodka for the first time as a Pride Month special release, however the expression was met with so much enthusiasm and customer demand that the distillery immediately decided to make it a year-round offering, representing its support for LGBTQ+ community as a full-time commitment, rather than a one month marketing ploy. In 2021, Ogden’s Own featured five members of the Utah LGBTQ+ community on the label, and expanding the search nationwide for 2022 underscores the distillery’s growth over the last year. This has included the opening of its on-site cocktail bar, Side Bar at Ogden’s Own Distillery, as well as increased distribution in select markets throughout the continental US.

All proceeds of Five Husbands Vodka will be donated to support LGBTQ+ causes, and the 2022 Five Husbands Vodka bottling is expected to hit shelves in Utah, select additional markets and through online retailers in May, just in time for Pride Month 2022. Qualified Husbands must submit their story and information to info@ogdensown.com before February 14th to be considered.
