The SQF Program is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and links primary production certification to food manufacturing, distribution and agent/broker management certification. Administered by the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), the goal of the SQF system is to deliver consistent, globally recognized food safety and quality certification programs based on sound scientific principles.
Level 3 SQF Certification is a “Comprehensive Food Safety and Quality Management System.” The SQF level 3 certification includes quality requirements in addition to all the food safety requirements from Level 1 and Level 2. Level 3 raises the bar by focusing on food quality, as well as safety. The SQF 3 certification, along with the recent expansion of its manufacturing facility in Kent, IL, strengthens the company’s reputation as a reliable, leading manufacturer of dairy products.
Nuestro Queso chose the SQF certification over other food safety certification programs because of its inclusion of quality and continuous improvements as key tenants of the program.
