New Members Jump on NRA Board


The National Restaurant Association (NRA) has added three restaurant industry professionals to its board of directors. The new directors were inducted during the association’s meeting and annual trade show in Chicago last month.

The newly elected board directors are:

Maribeth Bisienere, vice president, food & beverage and merchandise, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Bisienere oversees the strategy, concept development, and business optimization of all food and beverage offerings and the integration of merchandise operations. She joined The Walt Disney Company in 1995. Previously, Bisienere worked for Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, and had more than 15 years of luxury hotel and resort experience in New Englandand Colorado. She will serve on the association’s board until December 31, 2013, when she is eligible to renew her commitment.

Geoff Hill, vice president of Roark Capital Group, which currently owns eight restaurant brands that represent more than 4,000 locations worldwide and $2+ billion in system-wide sales. Hill is responsible for leading the sourcing activity for Roark Capital’s franchise and multi-unit investments. Prior to his current position, he was president of Cinnabon, as part of FOCUS Brands, and vice president of U.S. Franchise Systems. He will serve on the association’s board until December 31, 2011, when he is eligible to renew his commitment.

Forrest Shoaf, chief legal officer of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc., which currently operates more than 600 stores in 42 states. A graduate of West Point, Vanderbilt, and Harvard Law School, Shoaf served 12 years of active duty before beginning his career in law. He will serve on the association’s board until December 31, 2012, when he is eligible to renew his commitment.

The NRA’s board of directors consists of industry leaders who serve on a voluntary basis to guide the association toward its vision of leading America’s restaurants into a new era of prosperity, prominence, and participation, enhancing the quality of life for all it serves.
