A new concept, Miirch Social, which is slated to open in early November, will be bringing a unique form of casual Indian food and dining to Downtown Fullerton, California, in the Soco District. The menu will feature cuisine that uses natural ingredients including fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats to replicate traditional recipes directly from India, while also bringing in global flavors and inspiration from other cultures with an innovative spin.
Indian staples, comfort food, and other dishes that have been passed down through generations will grace the menu, with standout dishes including Chicken, Lamb, or Paneer Tikka Tacos, Masala Fries, and a Miirch speciality, Chusa Tandoori; a signature Indian-spiced cornish game hen that is roasted in the tandoor oven. The menu will also feature more traditional dishes of Paneer Makhni, Rogan Josh, and Butter Chicken, and several plant-based based options for guests with dietary restrictions which include the popular Indian street foods; Vada Pav “Sliders” and Vegetarian “Frankies,” also known as Bombay Burritos. Various side dishes will be available, such as homemade Regular, Garlic and Cheese Naan, Lacha Parante, and Tandoori Roti. Rounding out the menu, desserts include the Atom Bomb brownie sizzler and Saffron Cheesecake.
“At Miirch Social, we have not only taken some of the staples of Indian cuisine, but we have also added flavors and global influence from other parts of the world to bring guests a truly unique culinary experience,” says founder Jesse Singh. “Our menu will still feature more traditional dishes for Indian food purists, but we are also introducing some innovative and out-of-the-box delights that will tempt you, and also pair well with the more familiar Indian eats.”
Singh chose Downtown Fullerton, which is known for its strong community and nightlife scene, because the area mirrored the desired ambiance of the concept. In India, there’s an emphasis on socializing, and the restaurant, with its warm brick walls, inviting furniture and a large cartoon style mural of notable Orange County landmarks painted by illustrator and caricaturist, Cory Van Leperen, hopes to cultivate an environment where family and friends can mingle while enjoying food and drinks together. Singh plans to launch a bar menu with signature cocktails soon after opening.
Miirch Social is located at 138 W Commonwealth Ave, Fullerton, CA 92832. The restaurant will be open from 11 am -9 pm Sunday through Thursday and 11 am -10 pm Friday and Saturday, with a seating capacity of 94 combined indoors and on an outdoor patio.
