A new Mellow Mushroom restaurant in Virginia Beach opens today for to-go orders and is scheduled to open for dine-in customers later this summer. The restaurant will anchor the renovated Sheraton hotel on Atlantic Avenue at 35th Street.

The restaurant will be open for to-go orders from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Guests can place to-go orders online, by phone at 757-916-8900, or by walk-in.

“We’re excited to open the first Mellow Mushroom in Virginia Beach and to start serving some delicious pizza, wings, salads, and munchies to our guests,” says co-owner Jay Shah. “The new Virginia Beach Mellow Mushroom will provide a focal point for dining, tourism, and economic development in the area, offering a view of the famed Virginia Beach Boardwalk.”

“In keeping with Mellow Mushroom’s culture, this new restaurant—our 14th in Virginia—will have a design theme unique to its location,” says Anne Mejia, Vice President Brand Development at Mellow Mushroom. “The artwork curated for this site ties to Bossa Nova-inspired patterning and musical elements. An outdoor mural is one of the artistic highlights of the new restaurant, serving as a gathering point for diners, hotel guests, and tourists.”

The hotel and restaurant has and will continue to have an immediate and long-term positive economic impact on Virginia Beach, including workers involved in construction and full-time staff for the hotel and restaurant. The hotel is owned and operated by Shamin Hotels and the restaurant will be operated by a Shamin Hotels affiliate.
