The Marco Polo Ristorante celebrates its 30th Anniversary on June 20. The event will have special guests, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres; a wine dinner prepared by chef/owner Marco Chirico and his wife Donna Chiara Wines; a brief history of the Brooklyn restaurant; and the presentation of a custom-created Marco Polo sculpture by Silvio Amelio.

Co-hosting the event will be Brooklyn borough president Marty Markowitz. The MC will be Carlo A. Scissura, president of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.

Former Brooklyn borough president Howard Golden, the original ribbon cutter at the restaurant’s opening in 1983, will also be present. Writer Giorgio Ceraudo will present a brief history of the restaurant.

Chirico’s father, Joseph Chirico, opened Marco Polo Ristorante in 1983, introducing fine Italian dining to the Brooklyn area.

In 2009, the Chirico family expanded the business to include Enoteca on Court. They also redesigned Marco Polo’s dining room and added modern interpretations of Italian cuisine to the classical Old World Italian menu.
