Meeting Professionals International board of directors

Meeting Professionals International (MPI) announced the slate of candidates for its 2012-2013 international board of directors today. All MPI members will receive official notice of the slate later today via the website.

“Essential skills and competencies are critical for volunteer leaders serving on the international board of directors. In spite of unprecedented challenges to our industry, MPI’s membership community is stronger than ever. We are confident these gifted, diverse leaders appointed to the International Board of Directors will drive success for our members,” says Eric Rozenberg, CMP, CMM, chair of the MPI governance and nominating committee and president of Swantegy.

Pending membership approval, board and executive committee member selections are effective July 1, 2012 for FY 2012-2013.

The slate of officers for the executive committee includes:

  • Chairman elect: Michael Dominguez, vice president, global sales, Loews Hotels & Resorts, New York, New York
  • Vice chairman of finance: Kevin Kirby, senior director-worldwide sales, Hard Rock International, Orlando, Florida
  • Vice chairman: Roel Frissen, CMM, managing director, Parthen, Amstelveen, Netherlands
  • Vice chairman: Carl Winston, director, San Diego State University, San Diego

Nominees for the board of directors (three-year terms) include:

  • Krzysztof Celuch, CMM, CITE, vice-dean, Vistula University and manager, Poland Convention Bureau PTO, Warsaw, Poland
  • Allison Kinsley, CMP, CMM, chief meeting architect, Kinsley Meetings, Littleton, Colorado
  • Fiona Pelham, managing director, Sustainable Events Ltd, Manchester, United Kingdom
  • Alisa Peters, CMP, CMM, national account manager, Experient Inc., Chicago, Illinois 

Nominees for the board of directors (one-year terms):

  • Darren Temple, CTA, senior vice president of sales and services, Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau (to fill unexpired portion of Roel Frissen’s board term)
  • Stephanie Windham, CMP, vice president sales and marketing, ARIA Resort & Casino and Vdara Hotel & Spa, Las Vegas (to fill unexpired portion of Michael Dominguez’s board term)

Mitchell, Arthur, Harvey, Willuweit, DMA

DMA is proud to announce its latest additions to its staff. Joining DMA are Laurie Mitchell, Eric Arthur, Matt Harvey and Nancy Willuweit.

Laurie Mitchell is one of the company’s directors of customer solutions and comes to DMA with distribution and customer experience. Mitchell began at DMA in February 2012 after working for Shamrock Foods Company in Phoenix, Arizona for eight years.

She held several positions with Shamrock beginning as an account executive managing their Burger King and Avendra business and was then promoted to non-commercial account manager in charge of their school and hospitality segment.

In her latest position at Shamrock she served as a customer satisfaction manager heading up many projects to improve service levels and focus on customer satisfaction. Prior to Shamrock, Mitchell was the field support and customer relations manager for Avendra in charge of the Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana markets.

Mitchell holds a BS from Arizona State University and a MBA from the University of Arizona and has achieved her PMP credentials. Mitchell also served in the United States Air Force and worked for UPS for eight years.

Eric Arthur is one of our directors of customer solutions. Eric joined DMA in March 2012 after being a team leader at a company he founded, Marketplace Management Group LLC. He has over 20 years of foodservice management experience, which includes senior level product management to product development in both the foodservice distribution business and emerging national chains.

Arthur also has supply chain management experience in the multi unit restaurant industry. His background centered on multi unit restaurants, foodservice management groups, large and small hospitality organizations, and every aspect of the foodservice arena. Prior to Marketplace, he was a senior regional director of multi unit sales at Sysco. He earned a MBA from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.

MattHarvey joined DMA in July 2011 as a national account coordinator. He is a recent graduate of Bradley University where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in marketing and professional selling. Matt comes to DMA after working at a marketing firm where he was an account executive.

Nancy Willuweit joined DMA in January 2012 as a national account coordinator. Willuweit is a veteran of the foodservice distribution industry and brings over twenty years of experience in both supply chain and national account management. She held various roles in the national account division of the Martin-Brower Company and was an account representative for the I.J. Company (which is now a division of DMA member Reinhart FoodService).

Most recently she worked outside the foodservice industry for Spradling International Marine, a provider of global sourcing and supply chain services to the marine, RV, and aviation industries.

Willuweit is a graduate of Illinois State University and has a degree in Marketing. She has also been a certified purchasing manager during the course of her career.
