Los Chingones Hosts Chef Taco Series with Washington, D.C. Chefs Scott Drewno and Danny Lee

Troy Guard’s Celebrity Chef Taco Series makes its return to Los Chingones in 2023, with James Beard Award Semifinalist and Washington DC Chefs Scott Drewno and Danny Lee that make up The Fried Rice Collective (TFRC). TFRC presents their take on the taco, the Peking Duck Taco with confit duck, Chinese mustard sauce, hoisin sauce, cucumber skin, green onions and crispy onions for $7.

Says Guard, “Last year’s Celebrity Chef Taco Program was a huge success. We couldn’t be more proud of the funds we raised for some amazing charities and all the contributions from so many talented chefs. It was so much fun to collaborate and put the program together and we expect even bigger things in 2023!”

A year ago, TAG Restaurant Group’s (TRG) Guard, kicked off this exciting series in January 2022 to help the communities affected by the devastating Marshall Fires with a fundraising program benefiting Boulder Community Foundation. He wanted to open up the opportunity for other Colorado Chefs to get creative and raise funds for a charity near and dear to their hearts. This year, Chef Guard is kicking things up a notch and offering each celebrity taco for a full quarter.

Says Guard, “We wanted to change things up a little bit and really focus on benefitting the charities we work with for a longer period of time. Not to mention the Peking Duck Taco is so delicious we can’t serve it for only one month!”

$1 of every taco goes towards the quarterly charity of choice, Roundup River Ranch which provides children with life-threatening illnesses the opportunity to experience the most extraordinarily ordinary joys of childhood by offering free, medically-supported camp programs.

The Fried Rice Collective are joining Chef Guard at his award-winning Guard and Grace steakhouse on February 2nd for their Feast from the East family-style dinner event celebrating the Lunar New Year and Asian cuisine. Proceeds from the dinner also benefit Roundup River Ranch.
