Hold onto your dǒulìs! (bamboo hat) The Year of the Dragon is going to be a fiery one!

Since the Year of the Dragon returns with all its power and might just once every twelve years, the festivities this year call for a celebration that will truly “wok” your world.

Therefore, it is fitting that Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill, known for being “Not for Boring People”, is staging a spectacular Chinese New Year bash.

True to the 2012 Year of the Dragon horoscope predicting that it will be a flamboyant year, Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill has concocted a dazzling Chinese New Year “Feast of Fortune” menu with limited-time items such as Lucky Noodles and Char Siu Pork Tenderloin.

In addition, Ling and Louie’s will offer a special “Lucky Libations” cocktail menu which guarantees to increase good fortune with every sip of its exclusive drinks.

“We will be featuring some imaginative Chinese New Year dishes that entice even the pickiest eaters to explore the delicious world of Asian food,” says John Banquil, Regional General Manager of Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill.

“Staying true to being ‘Not for Boring People’, we plan to show that our concept can do up a real Chinese New Year Celebration!”

As you can tell, Ling & Louie’s is pulling out all the stops for the Year of the Dragon since it holds the most significance and good fortune, promising to be the most prosperous of years.

This includes decorating the restaurant with striking Chinese New Year traditions such as gongs, paper lanterns and dragons. The restaurant will be splashed in red, a common tradition to encourage "good fortune", "happiness", "wealth," and "longevity”.

According to Chinese tradition, the year reflects the characteristics of people born during the year, so there will be a special charisma and boldness about 2012–it promises to be an exhilarating, exciting and unpredictable year!

The festivities will be taking place January 20 – 23, 2012 at the popular Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill locations in Scottsdale, AZ; Denver, CO; Boise, ID; and Anchorage, AK.

“As our story goes, Ling grew up in Shanghai, so Chinese New Year is her favorite holiday and a time she likes to dedicate to thanking loyal guests for their patronage,” Banquil says.

“This year, we’re even offering guests who order off our Feast of Fortune Menu an opportunity to ring a Chinese gong and pick a lucky red envelope containing a prize and fortune for the New Year.”

If you can’t resist great Chinese food and are looking for a “Not Boring” time, Ling & Louie’s Chinese New Year celebration is a great opportunity to participate in the most jubilant of Chinese traditions.

Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill was created and founded in 2006 by veteran and award-winning restaurateur Randy Schoch, owner and CEO of Desert Island Restaurants. Ling & Louie’s currently has locations in Anchorage, Boise, Chandler, Denver and Scottsdale, with more locations opening in 2012 and plans to franchise and expand further nationwide.
