Legal Sea Foods Restaurant Group Continuing Partnership with Pan-Mass Challenge

Legal Sea Foods Restaurant Group, the iconic New England-based restaurant brand with over 20 locations along the East Coast, is continuing its longstanding partnership with the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC). The restaurant is donating 400 gallons of its legendary New England Clam Chowder to the 44th PMC on August 5 - 6, 2023. Legal Sea Foods has been a beloved partner of the PMC for over 30 years.

“On behalf of the entire Legal Sea Foods family, we are proud to stand by our partners at the PMC, continuing to fight against cancer. Supporting their extraordinary efforts is a privilege and we are grateful for the opportunity to be a small part of the impact they are making to find a cure,” says Matt King, president and Chief Operating Officer for Legal Sea Foods.

The PMC is a Massachusetts-based bike-a-thon, known for raising more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. Each summer, thousands of riders and volunteers participate in the PMC, all with a common goal of finding a cure for cancer. This year, 6,500 riders are coming together with the goal of raising $70 million for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. For the 17th consecutive year, 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar from the PMC will be donated directly to Dana-Farber as the organization, which has raised $900 million since its inception, nears $1 billion cumulatively raised for cancer research.

“We are thrilled to once again partner with Legal Sea Foods for this year’s PMC,” adds Glynn Hawley, Director of Operations at the PMC. “Their generous donation of 400 gallons of New England Clam Chowder will undoubtedly provide our dedicated riders with a delicious and energizing treat as they conquer the challenging ride. We are grateful for their continued support.”

The organization is Dana-Farber’s single largest contributor, accounting for more than 60 percent of the annual revenue at The Jimmy Fund.
