Tam O’Shanter, a member of the Lawry’s family of restaurants, has announced a special Ale & Sandwich Bar Nite Menu that promises to capture the delectable essence of premier modern American pub food at the Los Angeles restaurant.
The menu features a wonderful range of tasty small bites—including Scotch Rarebit Poutine of Beef Fat Fries and Smoked Bacon and Jidori Chicken Sticky Pops with Housemade BBQ Sauce—that let guests sample several items while staying within a reasonable budget. The modern pub fare also includes larger plates, including Pub Filet with Brussels Sprouts, Smoked Bacon, and Fingerling Potatoes and Dungeness Crab Cake with Root Vegetables and Balsamic Onions. The menu’s new items will be offered along with the restaurant’s hand-carved plates, signature side dishes, and other traditional fare.
Staying true to the Tam’s rich beer tradition, the menu highlights an ever-rotating list of craft beers, ranging from local brews, such as Golden Road, to unique British beverages, such as Young’s Double Chocolate Stout, to highly regarded California draught beers, such as Telegraph Brewing Stock Porter.
“American pub fare is evolving in wonderful ways these days, and we’re happy to push that envelope further with our modern pub Ale & Sandwich Bar Nite Menu,” says John Lindquist, general manager of Tam O’Shanter. Tam O’Shanter executive chef Mark Kalenderian notes, “We are bringing forth an exciting combination of small plates, large plates, and rare beers. This menu should be a memorable dining experience for everyone.”
The new menu will be available beginning in October 2012. The new menu also coincides with The Tam’s new extended hours; starting October 11, the pub menu will be served until 11 p.m. and the bar will be open until midnight. Also starting October 11, The Tam will feature a Late Night Happy Hour (Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.) with $5 draft and well drinks. The Tam hosts Trivia Nights, live music every Friday and Saturday, and many other special events.
