Landmark Hospitality announced that AJ Capella has joined Landmark’s family of chefs as the Executive Chef of Liberty House Restaurant in Jersey City, New Jersey. Capella brings an extensive professional background in the industry, including five years at the Ryland Inn, also a Landmark property, in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.

“I’m excited for the continuation of the great partnership I have with Landmark Hospitality,” says Capella. “The leadership team truly values every voice around the table, and I look forward to utilizing that freedom to curate a unique dining experience at Liberty House.”

Born and raised in New Jersey, Capella describes his style of cuisine as a twist on modern-American. Capella intentionally creates each dish to provide patrons with a sense of familiarity while incorporating unexpected modern techniques and composition. Liberty House Restaurant provides visitors with truly localized, luxury farm-to-table dining options, as most ingredients are sourced from a nearby hydroponic farm. At times, the menu even features a special dish with every single ingredient sourced within a 50-mile radius of the plate.

As guests return to fine dining restaurants searching for quality meals and memories, Executive Chef AJ Capella’s menu ensures a one-of-a-kind experience that encapsulates the chic, metropolitan environment surrounding Liberty House. With an 18-person team working behind the scenes—many who have been with Landmark Hospitality for years—the quality of service and cuisine established the restaurant as a staple culinary location in the region.

“We are a chef-driven company,” explains Director of Marketing & Engagement at Landmark Hospitality, Maddy Cretella. “Our organization prides itself on our family-oriented culture that grants freedom and creativity to our chefs, and we look forward to seeing AJ’s vision continue to impress Liberty House’s guests. We believe this new chapter for the restaurant will help it evolve from great to even greater.”

Landmark Hospitality’s first property opening in 2001, Liberty House Restaurant just recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, an incredible milestone for the company. Floor-to-ceiling windows of the restaurant boast the source of its moniker: a breathtaking view of the world-renowned Manhattan skyline. Steel and wood elements combined with immaculate chandeliers provide the backdrop for a picturesque night out. Liberty House offers an expansive outdoor dining option accompanied by cabanas, fire pits, patio bars in the gardens, and the New York City skyline, lending to unforgettable memories for guests.
