Kura Sushi to Open First New York Restaurant this Summer in Carle Place

Kura Sushi revolving sushi and eater-tainment experience, is opening its first New York restaurant in Carle Place this summer. The forthcoming restaurant will be located at 47 Old Country Road in the Country Glen Center and will be followed closely by a second New York restaurant in Flushing later this summer.

Boasting nearly 50 restaurants across the U.S., Kura Revolving Sushi blends human labor AND technological advancements to create a unique guest experience that expertly balances innovation with human service. Technology has been woven into Kura’s DNA since its inception in 1977, when it first pioneered the revolving sushi bar concept in Japan. Nearly 50 years later, the brand has more than 500 locations worldwide, each boasting a unique combination of human and tech-focused aspects that deliver a signature dining experience, including:

Guests join the waitlist via Kura Sushi’s app and are seated and greeted by a human server who ensures they’re comfortable with the Kura experience.

Kura employs a two-layer conveyer system comprised of a revolving sushi belt that circulates throughout the restaurant, and a “sushi highway” that sends dishes straight from the kitchen to the tables.

All dishes are prepared using high quality, authentic Japanese ingredients and are handmade in-house by sushi chefs. Once made, dishes are placed onto the revolving belt or sushi highway to be delivered to guests.

Drinks are delivered tableside by “Kur-B” the Kurabot, a delivery robot that is programmed by human servers to deliver drinks to seated guests.

For every 5 plates inserted into the tableside slots, a fun Japanese animation appears on the tableside tablet. For every 15 plates inserted, guests receive a prize from the Bikkura Pon Prize System located at each table – throughout July, the Bikkura Pon prizes reflect Kura’s collaboration with Cartoon Network’s We Bare Bears, a popular animated sitcom following the daily adventures of three bear brothers.
