Kobrand Corporation, a leading wine and spirits importer and marketer with a distinguished portfolio of hand-selected brands from around the world, announced the premiere of Maison Louis Jadot’s new project in Oregon, Résonance Winery and Vineyards, with Jacques Lardière as Winemaker. Résonance is the first vineyard purchased by Maison Louis Jadot outside of France since their inception in 1859. Both Maison Louis Jadot and Kobrand Wine & Spirits are owned by the Kopf family, and Résonance is the result of a great collaboration: Kobrand’s understanding of the potential of Pinot Noir from Oregon and knowledge of the U.S. market combined with Jacques Lardière’s extensive experience with Pinot Noir. The first wine, Résonance Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013, comes from a 32-acre single vineyard situated in Oregon’s Yamhill-Carlton AVA.

Résonance is the name of both the brand and the vineyard, which is farmed organically and is also dry-farmed. Its non-grafted rootstocks were first-planted in 1981, making it one of the oldest in the Willamette Valley. It sits on a convex portion of a low, west-east oriented ridge emerging out of the Coast Range. The terroir is a mix of ancient basaltic soils and sedimentary deposits. “Résonance Vineyard Pinot Noir showcases Maison Louis Jadot’s longstanding tradition of making terroir driven wines from the best vineyards. The overall style of wine balances tradition and technology in the vinification process, focusing on the purest expression of Oregon’s Yamhill-Carlton AVA terroir, with some influences of old-world Burgundy,” explains Jacques Lardière. “The 2013 vintage is very exciting for us to show. It displays the Oregon terroir in the first smell—an intense scent of soil and earth that develops into a very interesting minerality.”

- Résonance, Willamette Valley, Pinot Noir available September 2016 (SRP: $49.99).
- Résonance, Découverte (Discovery) Vineyard, Pinot Noir wine from the Dundee Hills, AVA available in 2017.
- Résonance, Oregon, a Pinot Noir available in 2018.
