While Marin Restaurant & Bar, located at Le Meridien Chambers in downtown Minneapolis, may be best known for its health-conscious cuisine, the newest addition to the restaurant’s team, pastry chef Christina Kaelberer will reward guests with decadent treats to indulge in at the end of the meal.

The internationally trained pastry chef returns to her hometown of Minneapolis, bringing more than a dozen years of experience in both large-scale and smaller operations—with recent stints at San Fransico’s Coqueta and Northern California’s Bottega Ristorante. Kaelberer specializes in developing acclaimed gourmet desserts, cakes, and pastries, and is guided by the principle of “bringing dessert back to dessert.” Her passion is creating identifiable dishes guests inherently love that also align with the restaurant’s Minnesota-meets-Northern California inspiration.

First and foremost, Kaelberer focuses on seasonal ingredients, and then begins incorporating unexpected and subtle hints of savory elements to make each item unique. Samplings of desserts from her new menu now available at Marin Restaurant include: Coconut Tapioca with mango lime sorbet, tropical fruit crisps, and Thai basil; Maple Panna Cotta with pecan praline ice cream, cranberries, and pears; and Lemon Poppy Seed Financier with tarragon olive oil ice cream and Meyer lemon curd.
