Kabaq, the augmented reality subsidiary of the Glimpse Group known for its AR menu technology and realistic AR food models, has changed its name to QReal.

Formerly Kabaq.io, QReal established its beachhead within the AR industry by creating the most lifelike models of cuisine. For years the startup perfected its modeling process to present dishes that look completely real, are platform agnostic and optimized for AR.

“We knew the same process would work for a whole myriad of brands and items – and thus QReal was born,” says co-founder and managing partner Alper Guler. “We decided a new identity was necessary after we branched out from strictly the 3D food vertical. Now we work in many different verticals, including fashion, luxury, automotive, and more.”

Kabaq was founded by Guler and co-founder Caner Soyer to as a way to enhance food selection and order processes in restaurants and home delivery services. The startup was acquired by the Glimpse Group in December 2016 and is an official Snapchat Lens Studio Partner.
