This fall, Joe’s Crab Shack will treat the famous seafood of the northern coasts, such as Maine lobster and Pacific Dungeness crab, to the traditions of the South, with a little barbeque to boot, in its Coastal Comfort menu, August 27 through November 18.
With its 100 percent Shore attitude, Joe’s has created unique combinations sure to please. Best-of-the best Maine lobster is introduced to good old Southern frying in its Southern Fried Maine Lobster; Pacific Dungeness crab meets barbecue in the new BBQ Dungeness Crab dish; and grits make their debut on the dinner menu with Joe’s Shrimp and Cheddar Grits, made with New Orleans-style barbecue spiced shrimp. Joe’s will also treat its famous steampot to a little Cajun spice with its Ragin’ Cajun Steampot, featuring Pacific Dungeness crab, queen crab, shrimp and andouille sausage.
“Everyone in the South loves casual comfort foods – nothing is better than a Southern-fried supper, good barbecue or low country grits,” says Janet Gieselman, vice president of marketing. “So we threw away the rules and combined these down-home flavors with our four-star seafood.”
Joe’s also went to the Deep South for its drink menu – with a little moonshine from the still. New Outlaw Moonshine cocktails including Moonshine Punch, Moonshine Tea, and Apple Pie Moonshine are lit up with Firefly White Lightning or Apple Moonshine distilled in the swamps of Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina.
