Joe Hand Promotions Extends ESPN+ for Business Agreement

Joe Hand Promotions, the leading live sports content distributor in the United States for bars and restaurants, announced the company has signed an extension of its out-of-home (OOH) ESPN+ for Business distribution agreement through 2024.

The comprehensive deal enables Joe Hand Promotions to offer U.S. restaurants and bars ESPN+ for Business, showcasing approximately 120 events per month, including combat sports, college football and basketball, NHL, tennis, soccer, golf, cricket and more. The extension comes ahead of the start of the 2023 college football season, as restaurants and bars look to attract guests across the country to cheer on their favorite team.

Structured to maximize foot traffic and engage fans from all over, ESPN+ for Business will offer as many as 75 college football games in the 2023 season, including 30 non-conference games from the SEC, Big 12, and ACC, as well as conference games from the American Athletic, Mid-American (MAC), Conference USA and Sun Belt conferences.

As operators continue to see consumer attention return to on-premise dining, Joe Hand Promotions is helping restaurants and bars stand out against competitors and drive revenue and foot traffic by providing a unique dining and entertainment experience to guests through the exclusive distribution deal with ESPN+.

"With growing competition in the hospitality sector and increasing guest expectations, restaurants and bars offering entertainment as part of the dining experience will set themselves apart,” says Joe Hand, Jr, president of Joe Hand Promotions. “We look forward to driving revenue growth and market share expansion for our hospitality clients with ESPN+ for Business and are thrilled for the upcoming college football season. Together, we are enabling our restaurant customers to provide the unique experience of watching the games with friends, family, and alums alike.”

ESPN+ for Business is only available on DIRECTV for Business and is a different product offering than the ESPN+ service, which is only available in U.S. residential households and not for license to commercial establishments.

Joe Hand Promotions is the dominant provider in the United States for distributing live combat sports and sports entertainment to out-of-home (“OOH”) commercial establishments, totaling approximately 2,000 pay-per-view and premium live events per year. The company has multiyear U.S. content distribution agreements for commercial establishments with the UFC, DAZN, SHOWTIME Championship Boxing, WWE, AEW, and Rough N’ Rowdy (Barstool Sports).
