Sub lovers from coast to coast can make a substantial difference March 27 by joining in Jersey Mike's "Day of Giving." On that day, Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, is donating 100 percent of sales to 86 local charities including hospitals, youth organizations, food banks, and more. The "Day of Giving" is the final event in Jersey Mike's 3rd Annual March "Month of Giving" fundraising campaign.

Throughout March, customers have been invited to come into their local Jersey Mike's restaurant and make a donation to that location's designated charity partner. The company hopes to raise more than $1 million by the end of the month. Last year's "Month of Giving" initiative raised nearly $858,000 for 74 different charities nationwide.

"I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to visit Jersey Mike's Subs this Wednesday, March 27, to help a great local cause," says Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike's founder and CEO, who started the company when he was only 17 years old. "On that day, Jersey Mike's will donate 100 percent of sales to help a local charity in your neighborhood. Please visit and make a difference in someone's life."

The company is committed to raising as much money as possible for these important causes and from March 24 through 27, Jersey Mike's is running 11,000 TV commercials featuring Cancro inviting the public in to any of its locations nationwide to celebrate its "Day of Giving."

"Giving…making a difference in someone's life" has been the mission of Jersey Mike's from the beginning. This philosophy coupled with the company's passion for quality products—Jersey Mike's wins best sub awards in virtually every market it enters—has fueled the sub sandwich chain's popularity.

Just since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations throughout the country have raised more than $5 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011. Today, the fast-casual sub sandwich franchise has more than 750 stores open and under development nationwide.
