J. Alexander’s LLC, operator of J. Alexander’s restaurants and Stoney River Legendary Steak restaurants, has elevated J. Michael Moore, 53, from vice president, Human Resources and Administration to the newly created post of vice president and chief operating officer. 

Lonnie J. Stout II, president and chief executive officer, made the announcement and says Moore has already assumed his new responsibilities.

“Mike has been instrumental in the development of the J. Alexander’s collection since its formation in 1991,” Stout says.  “He has been an integral part of our management team for more than 22 years and will have expanded responsibilities for Human Resources and Operations of J. Alexander’s LLC.  He also has senior management duties involving the continued integration of our Stoney River operations into J. Alexander’s LLC and in further improving the performance of our J. Alexander’s restaurants.”

Moore joined J. Alexander’s as General Manager of the first J. Alexander’s  restaurant opened in Nashville.  Since then, he has been promoted to director of Operations (1993) and to director of Human Resources and Administration (1996) prior to being named vice president, Human Resources and Administration (1997).  Before accepting his first post with J. Alexander’s, he was area director with Brinker International.  Moore is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management.  He was graduated from Emory & Henry College with a B.A. degree in Sociology.
