The Spice House, trusted purveyor of the finest spices, herbs, blends, and extracts, is expanding their exclusive collaboration with Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, the Japanese master chef known for his innovative and signature style of cuisine. Chef Morimoto has garnered critical and popular acclaim for his seamless integration of Western and Japanese ingredients and has effectively created a signature style that positions him as one of the world’s foremost chefs.
The collaboration’s curated range of exclusive spice blends received rave reviews as it brought Chef Morimoto’s time-honored talents into home kitchens nationwide. After a hugely successful launch last holiday season, the duo have decided to now bring the collection of spices to Chef’s famed Momosan restaurants (New York, Seattle, Wynwood and Waikiki) available now.
“Chef Morimoto is truly an icon in the kitchen, and we are so honored to continue our partnership with him. These spices became an instant hit with our loyal customers, and we know these treasured blends and sought-after flavors will be the perfect addition to the tables of Momosan,” says Alex Wilkens, Spice House VP of Product and Sourcing.
“It has been an honor to work with the Spice House team to create the perfect assortment of spices for every level of at home chefs. The spices we created can be utilized to make unique and flavorful dishes or even a final touch to a cocktail,” says Chef Morimoto. “I’m excited to now offer the spices at my Momosan restaurants and allow guests to sample the Black Garlic Ramen Pepper tableside.”
The Spice House x Morimoto will be available for diners in four different flavors, including:
- Yuzu Kosho Powder: Yuzu fruit’s tart citrus flavor pairs perfectly with spicy green chiles in this bright and savory seasoning.
- Shichimi Togarashi: True to Chef Morimoto's style, break tradition by adding green Sichuan peppercorn to this blend of orange peel, ginger, sesame, chiles, and nori.
- Black Garlic Ramen Pepper: Sweet, earthy, and tangy, this black garlic is allowed to shine against a classic backdrop of freshly ground peppercorns and toasted onion
- Epice Spice: Chef Morimoto's personal house blend of spices, famously used for his sautéed lobster masala.
Black Garlic Ramen Pepper will be available tableside for individual tastings, in addition to purchase alongside the remaining spice flavors ($12.49 - $14.99 each) and a four-pack variety gift set (Black Garlic Ramen Pepper, Sichuan Chile BBQ Rub, Shichimi Togarashi, Yuzu Koshu, $58.00). All products are also available online and at The Spice House’s four store locations (Chicago, Evanston, Milwaukee, Milwaukee Public Market).
