Anthony Scotto, proprietor of the popular Blackstone and Rare650 Steakhouses, is proud to announce the grand opening Insignia Prime Steak & Sushi at 610 Nesconset Highway in Smithtown, New York.
Insignia is expected to open for business at the end of November. During the first week of business, 50 percent of every check will be donated to cancer research at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
“We want to give back to the Long Island community that honors us with their patronage,” Scotto says. “I can think of no better way than to support CSHL’s innovative research program, which is committed to improving the diagnosis and treatment of all major forms of cancer.”
Commenting on Insignia’s grand opening, Scotto says, “We are very excited about this new addition to our family of fine restaurants. Insignia follows in the tradition of Blackstone and Rare650 – redefining the traditional steakhouse by offering an exceptional dining experience with a taste and flair all its own.”
Like its predecessors, Insignia’s inspired menu will feature the finest prime dry-aged steaks and freshest sushi and seafood, including Mediterranean whole fish, served up in a chic, elegant atmosphere that is also a feast for the eyes.
Picture a historic Hamptons’ mansion with cedar shakes, quarried stone, and a beautiful architectural turret combined with the energy and vibe of a trendy Manhattan restaurant.
“That’s Insignia,” Scotto says. “It’s refreshingly unique.”
According to Scotto, Insignia’s architectural amenities are many. The restaurant’s main floor has multiple unique dining areas, including special “power booths” for small parties, a plush VIP area for up to 10 people, and a dynamic sushi bar.
The dramatic second level glass wine room can be seen from the first floor and showcases an extensive collection of fine vintages. The centerpiece is a huge, full square bar with a shimmering wall of glass behind it that is the portal to an outdoor dining and lounge area with fire pits. It’s also covered and heated for all-season use.
For special functions and events, Insignia’s private banquet room can comfortably accommodate up to 250 guests. The room features a stone fireplace, detailed Tre ceiling, and dramatic hanging light fixtures. It can also be divided into three smaller rooms for more intimate gatherings. Two of the rooms boast outdoor patios for dining and cocktail hours.
“Our goal was to make Insignia an incredible place to have dinner, host a party, or simply meet and greet friends and business associates,” Scotto says.“I think we’ve succeeded in adding a sparkling new piece to Long Island’s culinary landscape.”
