On Monday, August 1, IHOP will offer its own spin on a recently discontinued dessert staple with the addition of the Choco-Pancake. For one day only, one IHOP location in the Houston, TX market will serve the Choco-Pancake creation for guests who feel they are losing out on the ultimate summer treat.
“When we heard that an ice cream truck favorite was discontinued earlier this week, we were inspired to produce our own pancake-ified version,” says Kieran Donahue, Chief Marketing Officer, IHOP. “The creation of the Choco-Pancake shows that we always have our guests’ backs, putting a smile on their plates while making indulgent cravings come true.”
The Choco-Pancake was created in partnership with a local Houston-based IHOP franchisee and contains one classic Buttermilk Pancake prepared on IHOP’s famous griddle, and then hand-pressed in a waffle iron to a crispy golden perfection. Lastly, the Choco-Pancake is filled with vanilla ice cream and topped with chocolate sauce, whipped topping, and chocolate chips.
“IHOP’s Recipe for Joy is at the center of all we do, and whipping up the Choco-Pancake is our way of bringing guests together under IHOP’s blue roof and finding joy in the nostalgia of such as classic dessert,” adds Donahue. “Part of the fun is listening to our guests, and if they like it, maybe it will show up at other IHOP locations this summer.”
Dine-in guests at the IHOP location at 22607 Tomball Pkwy, Tomball, TX 77375 can purchase the Choco-Pancake for $2.50 available all day on Monday, August 1.
