Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa, the area’s premier coastal resort, has named Jon Benson to the position of food and beverage director. It was announced by Paul Devitt, general manager.

In his new role, Benson will bring 25 years of culinary experience and leadership to the award-winning restaurants of the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach, including The Californian, The Red Chair Lounge, Pete’s Sunset Grille, Mankota’s Grill, Shubee’s Poolside Bar and Café, Tower 15 Pizzeria, and Surf City Grocers.

He brings a wealth of expertise in management, operations, and unparalleled customer service.

Most recently, Benson served as director of culinary operations at Hyatt Hotels Corporation since 2010. 

Over the years, he served as executive chef at the following Hyatt properties: Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort and Casino; Hyatt Regency Dorado Beach; Hyatt Regency Beaver Creek; Hyatt Regency Maui; and Hyatt Regency, Coconut Point. 

Benson began his career at Hyatt in 1987 as executive sous chef at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach.
