Following much anticipation and excitement, global hospitality company Hakkasan Group announced the second location of its newest social dining brand, Casa Calavera—a new Mexican culinary and cantina concept opening at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, a part of the Curio Collection by Hilton.

Since opening its first location in San José del Cabo in 2018, Casa Calavera has delighted guests with its irresistible, “bring the party” mentality, and promises to deliver the same level of excitement and mischief upon opening its doors in Las Vegas. Playing host to your guiltiest pleasures, Casa Calavera will serve as the ultimate party destination in Sin City—whether it’s a spontaneous poolside bash or the precursor to an epic night of revelry.

Inspired by the Día de Muertos Mexican holiday, Casa Calavera has a reputation as one of Mexico’s most Instagrammable restaurants—making it a top choice for all those in Las Vegas looking to capture striking, authentic and eye-catching moments. In addition to traditional furniture pieces and an array of architectural finishes, including Mexican tiles, pebbles and stacked stone, the restaurant will feature original mural art installations inspired by traditional calavera art, Lady Catrina and the symbolic references of Día de Los Muertos, including altars, candles, butterflies and marigolds. Guests will also be met with dazzling statement pieces, including a one-of-a-kind Tequila Throne exploding with bright marigold flowers, where guests are invited to sit, take photos and be immersed in the Casa Calavera experience.

As part of the unique design, Casa Calavera’s expansive outdoor patio will lend itself to a relaxing, open-air dining experience unlike anything else in Las Vegas. Guests will literally be able to walk in the sand as they enjoy sweeping views of the magnificent hotel pool, with a food truck also available on the patio for pool patrons and passersby to grab savory dishes and refreshing cocktails on the go.

Guests can expect authentic Mexican cuisine complemented by a vibrant and energetic social ambiance. Serving as the cornerstone of this beloved concept, the cantina will pay homage to classic alcoholic beverages from Mexico with a slightly contemporary feel, including the country’s finest tequilas and mezcals; an irresistible selection of margaritas, mojitos and craft cocktails; house-made infusions, syrups and essences, and more. Committed to using only the freshest, naturally raised proteins and organically farmed produce, the menu will call on traditional cooking techniques, recipes and ingredients featuring contemporary, innovative and sophisticated twists.

“We could not be more ecstatic about partnering with JC Hospitality and Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, which will no doubt be the most anticipated and buzzed-about hotel opening that Vegas has seen in many years,” says Derek Silberstein, Executive Vice President of Food & Beverage at Hakkasan Group. “Since opening its first location in Cabo in 2018, Casa Calavera has been a true wildcard that has completely reignited the culinary scene. We are excited to see the brand continue to grow and to be able to offer Las Vegas locals and visitors alike a wholly unique and unforgettable experience.”

“The addition of Hakkasan Group’s newest restaurant concept Casa Calavera to our culinary collection at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will provide an energetic dining destination for our guests,” adds Richard “Boz” Bosworth, President and CEO of JC Hospitality LLC, owner of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. “Casa Calavera will offer a relaxed open-air day experience with pool access, while also providing a trendy pre-party evening stop for drinks and dinner.”

As with all other Hakkasan Group restaurants and hospitality venues, Casa Calavera at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas remains committed to staff and guest safety and will implement strict health and safety protocols in alignment with the CDC, governor of Nevada and local health departments.
