Gordon Biersch will celebrate National Garlic Day on April 19 by offering guests a free, regular-sized order of its legendary garlic fries with any purchase.

Gordon Biersch's garlic fries are tossed in olive oil and seasoned with freshly chopped garlic and parsley. Dan Gordon, co-founder of Gordon Biersch, was inspired by one of his professors to create the recipe as a late-night snack while a student in the prestigious five-year brewing program at the world-renowned University of Munich in Weihenstephan, West Germany.

"Aside from our variety of handcrafted brews, Gordon Biersch is known for its garlic fries, which has been one of our most frequently ordered and longstanding menu items since we started serving them nearly 27 years ago," says Stan Frankenthaler, chief officer of food, beverage, and strategic supply for CraftWorks Restaurants & Breweries, Inc. "We're excited to celebrate National Garlic Day with our guests and provide them with a great-tasting offer on this fun holiday."

Earlier this year, Gordon Biersch unveiled its new, chef-driven menu, featuring made-from-scratch, seasonal recipes across the brand's food, beer, and cocktail offerings. Additionally, the restaurant chain began offering a wider variety of beers while staying true to the traditional brewing methods of the Reinheitsgebot or German Beer Purity Law; a wine list comprised of well-known producers from top growing regions around the world; and a fun cocktail menu focused on the classics.
