Garden Fresh Restaurant Corp. announced that Tammy L. Bailey has joined the company as chief marketing officer. In this new role, she will oversee all marketing, brand development, culinary, and communications activities for the owner of the Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes restaurant chains.

Bailey brings more than 20 years of marketing experience to the post, most recently at Jack In The Box as division vice president, regional marketing, where she headed brand and sales-building initiatives across all company and franchised restaurants. She previously held strategic marketing posts at Fortune 500 companies including Mattel, Hunt-Wesson, and Coca-Cola Foods.

During her 14 years at Jack In The Box, Bailey held several positions of increasing responsibility, division vice president of menu marketing and promotions where she managed the test JBX Grill brand, successfully developed and launched numerous new product platforms and category plans. Known for her strong strategic and analytical skills, she managed large teams in guiding significant sales and profit increases during her tenure.

Prior to Jack In The Box, Bailey worked in marketing at Mattel, including serving as product manager on Polly Pocket where she led an $85 million global brand. Previously, she had served as a brand manager for Hunt-Wesson Grocery Product’s Wesson Oil product line.

Earlier in her career, Bailey spent six years at Coca-Cola Foods, holding several posts including associate product manager of the Hi-C brand and marketing business analyst for the Minute Maid brand. The Texas A&M graduate earned her MBA from The University of Houston.

Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes was founded in 1978 in San Diego and currently operates 126 salad buffet-style restaurants across the western, southern, and eastern portions of the United States.
