Snagajob, a marketplace for hourly work, announced that Matthew Roberts, former CEO of OpenTable, was appointed to the company’s board of directors.

Roberts served as CEO of OpenTable from 2011 to 2015 and as CFO from 2005 to 2011. During this time, the company’s restaurant customer base grew from 3,000 to 32,000 and cumulative seated diners grew from just under 12 million to more than 830 million. Before this, Roberts served in financial and management leadership positions for E-LOAN, NetDynamics and Berkeley Systems. He currently serves on the board of Quantcast, a leading provider of data-driven programmatic and digital advertising.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Matt to the board,” says Peter Harrison, CEO of Snagajob. “As we continue to develop innovative solutions that fuel the largest marketplace for hourly work, Matt’s extensive and impressive track record of scaling an industry-leading marketplace, complemented by world-class mobile apps, will greatly support and guide our work. Not only is his passion for technology-powered marketplaces fully aligned with our core values, but his industry perspective and strategic insights will be invaluable to our team.”

“I am thrilled to join Snagajob’s Board of Directors,” Roberts says. “This is a company that is transforming the hourly market by thinking differently about how workers and employers connect. Snagajob is solving a critical pain point for employers—finding great workers—and is powered by the impactful mission of putting millions of Americans to work. It’s been exciting to see how far the company has come, and I’m even more excited to be a part of its future.”

Roberts received his B.S. degree in Accounting from Santa Clara University and is a Certified Public Accountant. His first hourly job was a department store sales position.
