Known for its scratch kitchen, warm hospitality, and classic American cuisine infused with bold flavors, fresh herbs and spices, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill has reached a milestone with the opening of its 40th restaurant location in St. Charles, Missouri.
Dennis Thompson, cofounder of Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon and an original owner of Fox and Hound Bar & Grill, and Doug Glendenning, former president of Lone Star, opened Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in 2000 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and credits its success to creating extraordinary experiences through hospitality.

Firebirds’ large selection of steaks are hand-cut onsite by a certified butcher and seared to perfection using authentic firewood that infuses a local flavor. The Firebirds experience goes far beyond exceptional food and drink with the belief that unparalleled dining starts the moment guests arrive; they are greeted with a friendly face, knowledgeable staff, and an inviting ambiance.
Firebirds was named to the FSR 50: Top 10 Fast-Growing, High-Performing Chains. The restaurant also received multiple 2016 TripAdvisor Certificates of Excellence. Firebirds stays on trend by refreshing its food and cocktail menus seasonally. In addition, children can order from a healthy kids’ menu with items such as filet medallions, shrimp tacos, and wood-grilled mahi certified by the National Restaurant Association’s Kids LiveWell program.
Firebirds is also a partner with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), donating $1.25 per glass sold year-round in all restaurant locations, and has donated more than $700,000 since its partnership with ALSF began in 2012. All Firebirds guests can sign up to be a part of the Inner Circle, whose members are the first to hear about upcoming events, promotions, new menu items and exclusive offers, and also receive a gift for joining and a gift on their birthday.
Firebirds is open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The restaurant offers banquet services, catering, to-go and gift cards. Guests can enjoy half-priced select bottles and glasses every Monday for Wine Down Monday as well as weeklong Happy Hour with bar bites and drink specials in the FIREBAR and patio.
