Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar invites guests to experience the next Taste and Learn, taking place Saturday, June 20 at 6 p.m. Taste & Learn is Ferraro’s popular, monthly wine-tasting dinner that provides illuminating wine education along with expertly prepared, authentic Italian small plates prepared by Executive Chef Francesco DiCaudo. Due to current public-health operating guidelines, space will be limited to 30 guests—half the usual capacity.
Each Taste & Learn offers a tour through some of Italy’s most intriguing wineries. June’s event spotlights Paitin from Piedmont, Italy. The Paitin winery, owned by the Pasquero-Elia family, was established in 1796 when Benedetto Elia purchased the farmhouse, wine cellar and surrounding vineyards from Luigi Pelissero, but the location’s wine-producing roots date as far back as the eleventh century. Paitin is known for its old-vine parcel of Sori Paitin within the Serraboella cru; Serraboella represents one of the more structured crus in Barbaresco, like Montestefano or Albeisa.
As always, Ferraro’s award-winning chef will prepare imaginative dishes to accompany each wine. The full menu follows:
Guerrieri Rizzardi, Soave Classico, 2018
Calamaro
Giant squid, spring vegetables, tomato relish
Paitin Nebbiolo Ca Veja, 2016
Bagna Cauda
