Farmshop, Jeff Cerciello’s restaurant and bakery in the Brentwood Country Mart, is hosting an open house Sunday, Jan. 29, from 4 to 7 p.m., for its newly opened Artisan Market.
The market showcases a meticulously curated selection of goods for the table and plate. Included in the beautiful, light-filled space is the bakery, cheese, charcuterie, and butcher station.
Counters and shelves are full of fresh produce, prepared foods, larder items, wine, beer, and housewares, all fulfilling Cerciello’s vision for this communal neighborhood space.
Cerciello has appointed Emiliano Lee, an active participant in prestigious cheese panel discussions and judge for the American Cheese Society, as Farmshop’s Market Manager. Lee brings bring his formidable expertise indomestic artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, and accompaniments to all aspects of the Farmshop Market.
Restaurant director Michel Darmon has procured a selection of California wines and craft beers, many of which will be featured at Farmshop’s winery and brewery dinners, and also found on the restaurant’s menu.
Together with Cerciello, Executive Chef Joshua Drew has stocked the market with prepared foods inspired by purveyors and seasonality, which parallel the restaurant menus.
Options include salads, sandwiches and complete meals prepared for carryout. Drew and Cerciello are also developing full service catering menus.
Farmshop’s resident pastry chef Brittainy Turnquist now showcases her freshly baked viennoiserie, cakes, cookies, pies, and pastries at the expanded bakery within the market.
For a table setting that matches the understated elegance of Farmshop’s dining room, an assortment of house wares are available for sale, including Heath ceramics and Matteo linens that adorn the tables in the restaurant.
Cerciello and his team are also working to bring an educational element to the Artisan Market, which will host a variety of special events with local purveyors and chefs including dinners, tasting events, cooking demos, and book signings.
The Artisan Market is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
