Euphoria kicks off the ticket launch for its 11th food, wine + music festival from 4 to 7 p.m. on April 23 from its new home in Downtown Greenville, South Carolina’s scenic baseball stadium with a party at the 500 Club at The Greenville Drive’s Fluor Field.
Tailgate with Chef Clark Barlow of Heirloom Restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina, who will return September 22 to 25 for #euphoria2016. Barlowe, one of North Carolina’s rising chefs, appeared on The Food Network’s Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay. Bacon Bros. Public House, Caviar Bananas, Hall’s Chophouse, Southern Pressed Juicery, Soby’s New South Cuisine, Nard’s Backyard BBQ, and more Greenville chefs will join Barlowe with their outstanding game day snacks, alongside Stella Artois, Firefly Distillery, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Larceny Bourbon. Guests will enjoy live music from The Erica Berg Collective and a first-rate view of euphoria’s new home base.
Euphoria has a new look and feel. Signature events remain, but many new events and locations have been added, spotlighting even more nationally acclaimed talent than ever before. This year, euphoria’s emphasis is on intimate culinary, musical and learning experiences celebrating the South, from a front row seat with pitmasters to a food truck rodeo with America’s Got Talent’s Benton Blount.
A one-night-only Michelin-starred dinner is back. Three star Michelin Chef and Owner Chef Curtis Duffy of Grace in Chicago returns, and will be joined by two additional Michelin-starred chefs.
Guest Chef Takeovers will feature James Beard 2016 Finalist Justin Devillier of La Petite Grocery in New Orleans; South Carolina native Suzanne Cupps, Chef de Cuisine of Untitled restaurant in the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City; Craig Diehl of Artisan Meat Share in Charleston; Mattie Beason and John Eisensmith from the new Black Twig Cider House in Durham, North Carolina; and Chef and The Farmer and PBS’s “A Chef’s Life’s” Vivian Howard.
Friday’s Taste of the South in Greenville's Wyche Pavillion will spotlight chefs from every corner of the South, including Top Chefs’ Kenny Gilbert from Gilbert’s Underground Kitchen in Jacksonville, Justin Burdett from Asheville’s Local Provisions, Nate Whiting from Charleston’s 492, Alex Harrell from Angeline in New Orleans, Erik Niel of Easy Bistro & Bar in Chatanooga, and James Beard 2012 Best Chef: South Chris Hastings of Hot and Hot Fish Club in Birmingham, Alabama, to name a few.
Sunday’s Brunch—FIRED UP! —brings the South’s finest barbecue to the heart of Greenville. Go behind-the-scenes with pitmasters at their smokers and experience it all—from whole hog barbecue to beef brisket. Look for North Carolina’s Sam Jones of Skylight Inn BBQ and Sam Jones BBQ, Rodney Scott of Scott’s BBQ, PICNIC’s Wyatt Dickson, Elliott Moss from Buxton Hall Barbecue, Aaron Siegel of Home Team BBQ, and John Lewis of Lewis Barbecue.
Euphoria’s 2nd annual kids cooking competition—Healthy Lunchtime Throwdown—is already underway. This year, kids ages 13—16 are invited to participate in addition to kids ages 8—12. The finalists will once again compete at a family-friendly event on September 25 with Michelin chefs as their sous-chefs; the winning dish will be incorporated into all Greenville County Schools. Judges from LiveWell Greenville, Mill Village Farms, and Cooking Light return this year.
VIP and Sporting experiences are now offered throughout the festival so that guests may attend every single experience euphoria offers—from a Southern cocktail class on a rooftop to a ride with pro cyclist George Hincapie before feasting at a fall picnic.
