Emmi Roth’s Director of Imports and Licensing, Daniel Schnyder, takes the helm as president of the board of directors at the Cheese Importers Association of America (CIAA). In this 2-year role, Schnyder will lead a group of companies working to make imported cheeses even more known and loved throughout the United States.
“Since 1945, the CIAA was led by many great presidents and I am certainly very humbled to be the CIAA president for the next 2 years,” says Schnyder. “Especially during these very challenging times for all of us, I look forward to furthering CIAA’s initiatives on fair trade and that U.S. consumers are aware and more educated around imported cheeses.”
According to IRI data, U.S. consumers are taking notice, as imported specialty cheeses are growing at nearly two times the rate of specialty sales growth.
The CIAA represents companies that are responsible for the majority of the cheese imports into the United States, assists with regulatory compliance, and works to educate and inform American consumers on imported cheeses.
