Since opening in August 2016, Westfield World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan has rapidly become an instantly identifiable landmark in New York City and one of the world’s most visited retail destinations.

Encompassing the Santiago Calatrava designed Oculus and the galleries that traverse the entire 16-acre World Trade Center campus, Westfield’s one-of-a-kind downtown destination is home to more than 100 global and local fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and technology brands that showcase the very best New York has to offer—all in one place.

At the same time, Westfield World Trade Center’s collection of highly-rated restaurants, bakeries, and fresh food marketplaces hosts a number of the world’s most innovative chefs and restaurateurs including Eataly’s Mario Batali and Joe and Lidia Bastianich, Epicerie Boulud’s Daniel Boulud, and Lobster Press created by Michelin star-winning chef Marc Forgione. Coming soon, the destination will also be home to the renowned London steakhouse Hawksmoor (the “best steak restaurant in the U.K.”).

To take its foray into fine dining one step further, Westfield is now announcing the formation of a partnership with the Make It Nice restaurant group, led by chef Daniel Humm and Will Guidara—to open a new casual restaurant in Lower Manhattan.

Owners of the Michelin three-star rated Eleven Madison Park as well as Manhattan’s opulent NoMad restaurant and bar—Humm and Guidara will open their new 7,000 square-foot restaurant at Westfield World Trade Center in 2018 in a spectacular setting that overlooks the destination’s iconic Oculus.

“At Westfield, the opportunity to contribute to the revitalization, renewal, and restoration of Lower Manhattan continues to be a passion and point of pride for us all. We are driven by a commitment to bring to the people of this community a place all their own—a place combining fashion, culture, arts, entertainment, and absolutely fantastic food,” says William Hecht, Westfield’s chief operating officer. “That’s why our partnership with Chef Daniel Humm and Will Guidara is so exciting.  They are two of the most energetic, creative, and forward-thinking restaurateurs in the world.  With the team from Make It Nice joining Eataly, Hawksmoor, Epicerie Boulud, and Lobster Press—Westfield World Trade Center will be a dining destination unlike any other in New York City.”

“We could not be more thrilled to team up with Westfield in this historic and remarkable location,” says Chef Daniel Humm.  Bringing our food and hospitality into the Oculus at World Trade Center—an incredibly important and iconic addition to our city—is extremely humbling, we’re so excited to be a part of it.”
