El Chile Group Unveils September Events Lineup

El Chile Group announced its upcoming events for September.

El Chilito, Austin’s Tex-Mex and interior Mexican taqueria, is excited to share that its East 7th Street location is now open until midnight on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Located in the heart of East Austin, El Chilito’s newly expanded hours offer diners the chance to enjoy the full menu late-night. El Chilito on Burnet Road recently debuted an original, one-of-a-kind mural by graffiti western artist and illustrator Federico Archuleta. Archuleta, who was recently featured on PBS, has created several original pieces for El Chilito. You can see his other work at the El Chilito locations on Manor Road, East 7th Street, and Manchaca Road.

Additionally, the Burnet location will host an adoption party with Austin Pets Alive! on September 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Austin Pets Alive currently has over 670 dogs in foster care alone, including dogs displaced by Hurricane Harvey, and is shifting focus to adoptions. There will be on-site representatives to facilitate adoptions, and to speak more on APA’s mission, relief programming, and their life-saving foster program. Monetary donations are welcome.

El Chile Cafe y Cantina is excited to announce they are now offering a daily Back to School Happy Hour, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Specials include $3 off select menu items such as appetizers, cocktails, and margaritas.

Alcomar is excited to announce dates for its three-part fall chef dinner series, “Flavors of Mexico,” kicking off Tuesday, Sept. 19. Led by chefs Alma Alcocer and Jeff Martinez, guests can expect to enjoy a 5-course dinner showcasing local ingredients paired with handcrafted cocktails and spirits. The first dinner, Taquitos & Tequila, will feature rustic street food, fresh coastal catches, and modern Mexican masterpieces. Tickets to this dinner are $55 each (price includes tax and gratuity)

Additionally, Alcomar will be participating in The Hispanic Alliance’s eighth annual Authentic Mexico Gourmet Gala on Sunday, Sept. 10 at The Long Center For The Performing Arts. The gala, which has become one of the most important culinary events of Mexican cuisine in the United States, celebrates the 207th anniversary of Mexico’s Independence and benefits The Hispanic Alliance

El Alma will once again participate in the Saint Louise House annual Sips & Salsas Soiree on Sept. 23. Sips & Salsas Soiree, hosted by The Amigas de Saint Louise House, is a gala event celebrating the mothers and children whose lives have been touched by Saint Louise House. The event will include dinner, drinks, dancing, and more. Funds raised will help provide housing and supportive services to women and children experiencing homelessness in Austin. Additionally, El Alma will take part in the Communities in Schools Food for Thought event on Sept. 26.

Food for Thought, an event celebrating the success of Communities in Schools students, will feature a lively evening of local cuisine, live music, libations, and exciting auction packages from some of Austin’s hottest restaurants. Proceeds from the event will provide financial support for student dropout prevention services.

On Tuesday, Sept. 12, Tuesday, Sept. 20 and Tuesday Sept. 26 at El Chile Cafe y Cantina, Executive Chef Maribel Rivero will present five-course Peruvian dinners in anticipation of the grand opening of El Chile Group's forthcoming restaurant, Yuyo. Each pop-up dinner menu showcases signature dishes that combine the exciting and complex flavors of Peruvian cuisine with fresh Gulf seafood and local ingredients. This dinner will be the final installment of the restaurant’s pop-up preview dinner series.
