Centennial, Colorado-based The Egg & I Restaurants announces the opening of its 104th restaurant on Monday, Aug. 4.

The restaurant in Birmingham, Alabama, opens at 6 a.m., and is located at 5479 Hwy. 280, across 280 from Lee Branch.

On Aug. 3, the restaurant will donate 100 percent of all proceeds from its private, pre-opening training day to Camp Smile-A-Mile. Camp Smile-A-Mile’s mission is to provide unforgettable recreational and educational experiences for young cancer patients and their families as well as young adult survivors from Alabama at no cost.

“Camp Smile-A-Mile is excited to be part of the new opening of The Egg & I. Through the generosity of corporate partners like The Egg & I, we are able to serve more children and families affected by this terrible disease,” says Meredith McLaughlin, president, Camp Smile-A-Mile.

“We are all very excited about this event to support Camp Smile-A-Mile and about our new restaurant opening. The Birmingham community has already welcomed us with open arms and we can’t wait to become more involved in our new community and make new friends,” says Jeremy Crowe, general manager of the new The Egg & I Restaurant. “We are also very pleased our restaurant is creating 45 new jobs in Birmingham.”

“The opening of our 104th restaurant is a significant accomplishment for all of us at The Egg & I Restaurants. I want to thank our entire team for their dedication and tireless efforts to ensure we deliver an exceptional guest experience every day in every restaurant,” says Bill Baumhauer, chairman and CEO of E&I Holdings, Inc., parent company of The Egg & I Restaurants.

“We are excited to be opening a new restaurant bringing our award-winning breakfast and lunch entrees to the Birmingham community.”
