For a second consecutive year, pioneering food technology company Aseptia was named an award winner at the internationally renowned Edison Awards, achieving silver. On April 21 in New York, the leadership team accepted its distinguished recognition among peers, executives and representatives across respected industries at the 29th annual event, which honors achievements in innovation. Aseptia’s 2016 Edison accomplishment acknowledges its latest technological breakthrough, AseptiSense—a commercially available system of tools for successful process simulation, particle-flow monitoring and safety validation of complex particulate food products that are sterilized with aseptic processes.

The company was recognized with a gold award in 2015 for its patented AseptiWave process, which uses rapid, consistent heating to produce shelf-stable foods that retain the qualities of fresh foods without preservatives or refrigeration. “Our proprietary technologies create Aseptia’s core and we’re elated to have both of these foundational systems recognized as innovative contributions to the industry by the Edison Awards,” says CEO David Clark. “This second achievement from such a prestigious organization helps add to our momentum as we grow our technologies within the marketplace.”

The Edison Awards, named for famed innovator Thomas Alva Edison, who achieved vast notoriety with 1,093 U.S. patents, becoming a worldwide household name, annually honor the best in innovations and innovators. Award nominees were judged by more than 3,000 leading business executives including past award winners, academics and leaders in the fields of product development, design, engineering, science and medicine. In addition to the awards reception, Aseptia presented during the Annual Gala’s “Innovators Showcase,” highlighting its technological achievements through a hands-on forum for guests.
