Edgewater Bar & Grille, formerly known as Lakefront Restaurant, joins Charlotte's dining scene after undergoing an extensive renovation. Located at the Hilton Charlotte University Place, the restaurant will officially reopen on September 21.

The $750,000 renovation includes new commune tables in both the restaurant and bar, new private dining spaces, a revamped bar with nine new beer taps, seven high-definition TVs, and fresh, modern decor. The restaurant will also feature natural light with a view of the Lake at University Place.

"We're thrilled with all of the recent changes taking place," says Brandon Devoe, director of food and beverage. "The space looks phenomenal, and our incredible chef de cuisine, Michael Hancock, has really outdone himself. He has put together a menu with an emphasis on small and shared plates that truly showcase North Carolina regional dishes. Edgewater Bar & Grille will bring a truly unique experience to the university area."

In addition to its physical renovations, Edgewater Bar & Grille will debut a new southern-inspired menu. The menu was created with fresh, farm-to-table meals in mind, and locally sourced ingredients will be used in recipes whenever possible. The menu will also offer a variety of shared plate options for those that enjoy dining out with a large group.

Edgewater Bar & Grille will feature seven local draft beers that will change seasonally. Beer flights will also be offered.

"We see great opportunity for our Grille concept to enhance our presence in the University area," says David Schaum, general manager of the Hilton Charlotte University Place. "The restaurant's vibrant interior, with great views of the lake and a lively bar, coupled with the unique second story patio makes the Edgewater Bar & Grille a great destination for dining and socializing. We look forward to welcoming the Charlotte community to our restaurant."
