Denny's today announced long-awaited plans to open its first-ever Manhattan location on Friday, Aug. 29, at 5 a.m.

Located at 150 Nassau St. at the gateway to New York's Financial District, the new location incorporates locally-inspired, historical design elements with the classic, American diner atmosphere guests have come to expect from Denny's.

The diner promises new and exclusive front- and back-of-house aspects as well as menu items that make it both a welcome addition to the neighborhood and the first of its kind for the full-service, family restaurant chain.

"In seeking the prime location for Denny's first entrance into New York, the financial capital of the world, Lower Manhattan seemed the perfect fit," says Rahul Marwah, Denny's franchisee and manager of Nassau 8793, LLC. "We purposefully designed a restaurant that suits this vibrant and historic neighborhood, drawing inspiration from the unique charm, character, and flair of legendary downtown New York eateries that locals have loved and cherished for decades. Of course, working side-by-side with the condominium board at 150 Nassau Street to see this vision come to life was imperative."

The exclusive design aspects in the Manhattan Denny's include rich, dark wood paneling, button-tufted leather seating, and copper-stamped ceilings. The unit has also installed sound deadening materials, pollution control filters, and vibration isolation equipment that aim to keep noise, external odors, and vibrations from mechanical equipment to a minimum so as not to disturb local residents.

"When Denny's first presented our condominium board with the designs for the Manhattan restaurant, we welcomed the opportunity to review, collaborate and provide feedback on various elements," says Jay Geiger, president of the board of managers at 150 Nassau St. "From the architectural design to construction features and materials, we're proud to have our collective thoughts and feedback well-incorporated into such a warm and inviting finished space, and we are pleased to welcome Denny's to our neighborhood and building."

In addition to the New York look and feel of the restaurant, the Manhattan Denny's also features state-of-the-art kitchen equipment aimed at improving consistency, product quality, and operational efficiency. Special menu items will be available to guests, including Denny's new Italian Meatball Lasagna, Chocolate Lava Cake, and a variety of Flatbreads such as BBQ Chicken, Cheese Burger, and Veggie.

The restaurant also has a full-service, craft cocktail bar, the first of its kind for the diner brand. Denny's enlisted the services of bar consultant Michael Capoferri of Here in Spirit (formerly of Soho House West Hollywood) to create a beverage program that offers quality, upscale products coupled with the value and flavor profiles that Denny's guests have come to know and love.

The bar will offer a rotating selection of beer and wine, a variety of both pre-Prohibition and contemporary cocktails, and competitive happy hour specials.

"New York has long been considered the cultural melting pot of the world," says Steve Henry, senior director of field marketing for Denny's. "We've been so graciously welcomed into our new Manhattan home and look forward to becoming a neighborhood gathering place where local residents, visitors of this great city, and our loyal guests from all over the country can always count on good service, a great atmosphere and, most importantly, delicious food."

As a full-service diner, the Manhattan Denny's will be open seven days a week from 5 a.m. until midnight, and will serve great food at affordable prices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.
