Blue Duck Tavern, D.C. General Manager Joseph Cerione announced the much anticipated reopening of one of the city’s most beloved restaurants, Blue Duck Tavern with its Blue Duck Tavern Lounge, and lovely outdoor dining terrace. Guests can look forward to returning for breakfast, lunch and dinner service on Wednesday, June 24. Jean-Claude Plihon, the hotel’s director of culinary and food & beverage operations, is overseeing Blue Duck Tavern’s reopening menu. He will also coordinate with the hotel’s newly appointed hygiene manager who is GBAC certified and responsible for the daily implementation of the operational guidance protocols throughout the Park Hyatt Washington, D.C.  One will find enhanced measures for the protection and comfort of guests, as well as healthful management practices to oversee the safety of the hotel’s exceptional staff.

“We are so pleased to be able to welcome back guests, as well as our amazing staff who have earned so many accolades for Blue Duck Tavern over the years in Washington,” Cerione says.  “Our signature Capitol Hill glass dining booths in Blue Duck Tavern Lounge have always been noteworthy for design and privacy. Today they are truly a benchmark for isolated seating while social distancing remains in place. We predict they will be the most requested tables this summer. The seating throughout the Blue Duck Tavern has always been spaciously set apart so adhering to the six-foot apart distancing will not dramatically change our dining room nor our Lounge and Terrace configurations.”

What guests will note is Hyatt’s new wellness guidelines which include hand sanitizer stations throughout all entry points of each room. Silverware will be presented rolled to protect utensils and condiments on tables will be individually packaged. Servers, chefs and bartenders will wear masks and disposable gloves. Approved sanitation products will be used in accordance with CDC disinfecting guidelines throughout the entire hotel.

In maintaining a touchless environment, menus will be available through each guest’s smartphone with a QR code, and credit card payments will be processed with handheld devices. The reopening menus features Blue Duck Tavern favorites along with seasonal specialties, which will also be available for take-out.
