The National Restaurant Association congratulates CraftWorks Restaurants & Breweries Inc., on receiving the Cheers Beverage Excellence Award 2012 for its outstanding responsible alcohol service program. Winner in the Responsibility Award category, CraftWorks received its accolades at the 2012 Cheers Beverage Conference in New Orleans last month.

The Responsibility Award is sponsored by the National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe Alcohol.

CraftWorks Restaurants & Breweries, Inc., has three major brands: Gordon Biersch, Rock Bottom, and Old Chicago. These major brands, along with all CraftWorks’ restaurant brands, incorporate responsible alcohol service as part of their culture.

CraftWorks has partnered with the National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe Alcohol program to train all employees who interact with guests. The restaurant trains about 3,000 people per year and requires all employees to be recertified every three years.

The Cheers Beverage Excellence Awards celebrate innovation and profitability in on-premise beverage programs, including employee training.

ServSafe Alcohol offers training solutions to restaurant employees in responsible alcohol service. The training program teaches employees about their personal responsibility, and how to recognize signs of intoxication in guests and manage service accordingly.
