Cornerstone Restaurant Group, Chicago’s acclaimed restaurant collective known for Michael Jordan’s Steak Houses and thriving partnerships with beloved Chef Bill Kim, is set to debut the Urbanbelly brand in Brooklyn this fall. The introduction of Cornerstone’s first New York concept arrives with the opening of Williamsburg Market, a new food hall project by Moonrise Ventures at 103 N. Third Street.
Cornerstone is an investor in the Brooklyn project—a notable first for the ever-growing restaurant group. The group gained considerable experience licensing their concepts and consulting on others with a recent expansion of Urbanbelly to Purdue University in West Lafayette during the Spring semester in 2022. In addition to investing, Cornerstone will lend their consulting expertise to the new Williamsburg Market. Urbanbelly will bring border-defying flavors from Chef Kim through a limited menu featuring creative ramen offerings, Asian rice and build-your-own noodle bowls.
“We’re restaurateurs not bound by restaurants, and we want to bring our food to where the people are,” says Josh Zadikoff, president of CRG, “the Williamsburg market is set to have an amazing roster of talent and we’re thrilled to be able to bring the Urbanbelly legacy to New York.”
The design of the expansive space is meant to merge the industrial nature of Brooklyn with inviting, French country farmhouse style. A large seating area in front of the venue and 360 degree bar will provide ample seating to enjoy the 18 different kiosks available to patrons. Other vendors include Di Fara, Paper Plate, Tar Pit Café, Good Batter, Mexology and BKLYN Wild.
Williamsburg Market will be operated by Moonrise Ventures. The new food hall’s goal is to house young, chef-driven dining concepts like Urbanbelly from Chef Bill Kim and CRG. Williamsburg Market will open Fall 2022 at 103 N. Street in Brooklyn.
