Clyde’s Restaurant Group, a Graham Holdings Company subsidiary, announced today the launch of 43 Burger, a collaboration with Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson. The virtual restaurant features craft burgers available for delivery in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Additionally, 43 Burger will donate a portion of every sale to DC Central Kitchen, the nationally recognized nonprofit combating hunger through job training.

For Tom Wilson, the collaboration is a way to engage hockey fans while giving back. “Collaborating with a local restaurant group that I have always enjoyed, giving fans an opportunity to interact in a small way, and being able to raise money for an important cause, just felt right,” says Wilson. “While I am hoping we appeal to individuals and families who are able to order our 43 Burger,” says the hockey star, “there are also many in our community who struggle from meal to meal; the DC Central Kitchen team is a group of great people that help feed those in need in innovative ways.”

“Who doesn’t love a great burger, and no one in D.C. does it better than Clyde’s,” adds Wilson. “This past year has been challenging for the hospitality industry, and yet ordering from our favorite local spots is a tradition for many. 43 Burger is really an extension of that thinking; something that is truly for the DMV, raises important funds for a great cause, and returns a bit of excitement to game day!”

Wilson, who has spent the last eight years on the ice for D.C.’s hockey club, has not only been a major part of the team’s success but has been an active member of the greater Washington community. “It was a natural partnership for us,” says Kevin Keller, director of operations for Clyde’s Restaurant Group. “Tom Wilson has the same passion for the people in our community as he displays on the ice. As fans ourselves, it is easy to see why “Willy” is admired and loved by so many,” continues Keller. “He is one of those guys you definitely want on your team, not on your opponents. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on the Clyde’s team and help him support DC Central Kitchen.”

“We are incredibly honored to serve as the charity partner for this exciting new concept with Tom Wilson and Clyde’s Restaurant Group,” says DC Central Kitchen CEO, Mike Curtin, Jr. “Clyde’s has been and continues to be a steadfast partner of DC Central Kitchen – hiring our graduates to work in their restaurants throughout the city, supporting our events, and through countless fundraisers like this – we are truly grateful for the many ways this wonderful hospitality partner has supported our work and our shared DC community. We can’t wait for what’s to come.”

Inspired by the Washington forward, the menu features ‘4 burgers, 3 sides, and no nonsense’– including the Willy’s Way Burger with cremini mushroom spread and truffle cheese. “It was fun working Chef Stephen Lyons and the Clyde’s team to incorporate some unique flavours,” said Wilson. “To be able to stress quality ingredients like their locally ground beef and working with local artisans such as Maryland’s FireFly Farms was important to me as well. I hope fans enjoy it as much as I do!”
