Dave Donaldson, beverage director for City Tap House, the craft beer-focused restaurant in Washington, D.C, collaborated with Nathan Rice, Mike McGarvey, and Dave Coleman of 3 Stars Brewing Company to create an exclusive beer.

Persica Rising is a dry, crisp Saison with a mild hop bite and a subtle peach finish.

The beer is available now exclusively at City Tap House and is priced at $6 per draft and $5 per draft during happy hour.

Additionally, Donaldson will work with 3 Stars Brewing Company in the upcoming months to create variations on Persica Rising, including souring, barrel aging, and infusing with seasonal ingredients.

“We leaped at the opportunity to create a house brew with 3 Stars,” Donaldson says. “I've been a strong supporter of their beer since they began distributing, and they've been great friends and supporters of City Tap House since we opened in 2013. We're all thrilled with the result and our guests have been equally enthusiastic.”

The brewing team at 3 Stars has released more than 40 distinctive beers. They’ve received multiple awards, including being named one of the best local breweries by Washington City Paper in 2015, as well as Rising Star Brewer by StarChefs.com in 2014.
