The newest concept from Los-Angeles-based Innovative Dining Group Innovative Dining Group (IDG) will serve modern Hong Kong cuisine in a lavishly designed space.

Chi Lin is designed to evoke a sense of discovery and reverie from the moment you walk through the double red doors,” says Lee Maen, partner at IDG. “Guests will be able to enjoy modern interpretations of the multiregional dishes of Hong Kong that are made with fresh, clean, and high-quality ingredients, while in a very rich and seductive setting. We hope to provide guests with a sophisticated Hong Kong experience—a hidden gem in the middle of L.A.”

The amalgamation of IDG’s dynamic and modern perspective and well-known Chinese culinary talents of Cecile Tang’s authentic creations of Hong Kong dishes, results in contemporary renditions of classic Chinese dishes. Hong Kong, known as a “gourmet paradise,” is a multicultural epicenter, melding a variety of regional cuisines in a refined approach that utilizes fresh ingredients in preparations with unexpected flavors and presentations.

Chi Lin’s menu will feature sharable plates and includes highlights such as the Chi Lin Peking Duck with plum sauce, cucumbers, and scallions—served whole or in a Porbien crêpe from a mobile cart; Aberdeen Alaska King Crab cooked in crispy garlic and chilies in the Hong Kong Aberdeen style, served with clear mung bean noodles; Black Pepper Two Basil Filet Mignon with Thai and Opal basil topped with crispy shiso leaf; and Leaves of Wild Yam— the superfood dark green leaves of wild yam lightly sautéed with ginger and garlic, and topped with lemon zest and honey glazed yam cubes.

To complement the diverse menu, Chi Lin has also created an innovative cocktail list with distinct Asian notes. The Hot & Sour Martini is created from Cazadores Blanco tequila, yellow Chartreuse, lemon, a hint of Serrano chili and dried Chinese plum; and the Kowloon Cooler highlights Jasmine liquor, Atlantico rum, shiso, fresh lime, and Prosecco. The extensive wine list at Chi Lin was hand selected to balance the spices and flavors of the cuisine, featuring an international wine list from California, Spain, Italy, and other corners of the world.

Award-winning boutique design firm Studio Collective collaborated with IDG to create a sophisticated and neoteric atmosphere to complement the diverse culinary experience. The main dining room is lit by 300 suspended lanterns and features mesmerizing garden vignettes with optical illusions of the path of the white butterfly, while the bar and lounge are highlighted by seductive reds and jet-black granite bar top and surfaces.

Chi Lin is the newest addition to IDG’s impressive restaurant portfolio, which includes the recent openings of RivaBella, located next door to Chi Lin, Soleto in downtown Los Angeles, and B Grill in Terminal 7 of LAX.  In addition, IDG operates several restaurants and lounges in Los Angeles: Sushi Roku (with locations in West Hollywood, Santa Monica, and Pasadena), BOA Steakhouse (with locations in West Hollywood and Santa Monica), Katana in West Hollywood, and Robata Bar in Santa Monica. Other concepts, located in the W Hollywood, include the modern California bistro Delphine and two adjacent lounges: Station Hollywood and the Living Room. The company also operates a Sushi Roku at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and a Sushi Roku at the W in Scottsdale, AZ. All of IDG’s venues reflect bold, modern interpretations of traditional concepts.

Chi Lin is located at 9201 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069, adjacent to RivaBella, and will be open for dinner daily. Valet parking and self-parking are available. For reservations or additional information call 310.278.2068 or visit www.chi-lin-la.com.
