Chef Works, a global leader in culinary and hospitality apparel, announced the acquisition of Bragard Group SAS from Fristads Kansas Group in Sweden.

Over the last 80 years, Bragard established itself as a highly respected culinary brand. Its heritage and textile innovations have set it apart – particularly throughout Europe. The company’s longstanding associations with Michelin and Bocuse d’Or continue to reinforce its prestige.

Chef Works, which operates in more than 90 countries, revolutionized the culinary and hospitality apparel industries with fashion-forward chef coats, aprons, shirts, pants and hats that range from street-inspired to traditional.

“We have tremendous appreciation for Bragard and the contributions it has made to the culinary apparel space for more than 80 years,” says Neil Gross, CEO of Chef Works USA. “It is a global brand that immediately commands respect and we’re excited to see what we can achieve working together.”

Over the coming months, Chef Works will work closely with the Bragard team to assess respective global strategies and footprint.

“We have long respected Bragard for its originality, French identity and committed employees,” adds Paul Gross, managing director of Chef Works International. “The brand is recognized around the world as a leader in the hospitality sector—particularly in the restaurant business. By investing in the Bragard holding company, we are supporting long-term development to provide quality products and services to all customers around the world.”

Added Guy Boeuf, CEO-president of Bragard: “It is a unique opportunity for our group to receive support from a family-owned company like Chef Works in the same sector. They have decided to reinforce Bragard, a traditional brand with unique market share and independence.”

Terms of the acquisition will not be disclosed.
