Set along the docks of picturesque Stonington, Maine, Acadia House Provisions, from two Michelin-starred Chef Ryan McCaskey, opens in late June 2019. The sister restaurant of Chicago’s award winning, Acadia, offers the celebrated chef and Deer Isle summer resident’s takes on coastal Maine fare. The approachable menu showcases a strong commitment to local farms, fishermen, and purveyors within a 40-mile radius.

“Maine has been a long-standing inspiration for me both personally and professionally,” Chef McCaskey says. “To have a companion restaurant serving a more casual version of what we do in Chicago is something I’ve dreamed about for a long time.”

Serving lunch and dinner, the seasonally recurring restaurant open from July – October features a summer cottage-inspired, intimate dining room and 72 seat patio set along the water.

The menu is comprised of celebrated dishes from Chef McCaskey’s fine dining restaurant as well as elevated takes on the classic fare of the area. Calling upon the farmers and purveyors in Penobscot Bay, highlighted items include the Local Greens salad made from Yellow Birch Farms beets, local chevre, pinenuts, and blueberry-maple vinaigrette as well as the Lobster Roll showcasing fresh lobster pulled from the same waters the restaurant sits upon with chive, buttered bun, paprika, drawn butter, and dill pickle. Other menu stand-outs include the Southeast Asian-inspired Acadia Hot Dog featuring Maine’s own W.A Bean & Sons hot dog topped with cucumber, pickled carrots & daikon, jalapeno, cilantro, lobster mayonnaise, and tonkatsu sauce as well as a Chinese-style roasted Commonwealth Farms Duck accompanied by farm vegetables, truffle-cherry duck jus, and potato pave.
