Cheeseburger in Paradise, a restaurant known for its one-of-a-kind beach party atmosphere, announced a grand prize winner for the “Concoct a Colada Contest.”
The contest started in July to celebrate summer and invited fans to enter their own creative twist on the tropical staple, the Piña Colada, for a chance to win an all-inclusive trip to Jamaica.
Indiana local Lori Thomas was announced as one of the four finalists for her Orange Dream recipe topped with a float of Cointreau.
During the month of August, Cheeseburger in Paradise welcomed guests to try flights of the finalists’ concoctions and vote on their favorite.
After more than a month of voting from Cheeseburger in Paradise guests across 26 locations, Thomas was announced the winner with more than 30 percent of the total vote between all four finalists.
“Cheeseburger in Paradise was very impressed with the quality of the entries and the creativity we saw from everyone, especially our four finalists,” says Casey Barile, Cheeseburger in Paradise director of marketing. “It was a close race with voting until September 15, but Lori won over guests with her unique spin on our signature Piña Colada.”
Lori is the grand prize winner and receives an all-inclusive trip for two to Jamaica to stay at a beautiful resort and visit the Appleton Estate Distillery. Plus, her winning Piña Colada will be on the Cheeseburger in Paradise menu.
Other finalists for the contest received a Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Machine drink prize pack and a $100 Ticket to Paradise for Cheeseburger in Paradise.
The finalists also celebrated their win with a ‘Recipe Reveal’ party in August for them and 10 of their friends to try their recipe along with awesome food.
“When the contest was announced, I thought how delightful it would be to have a Piña Colada flavored with one of my favorites, Cointreau. I was so anxious to share the idea with others,” Thomas says. “Finally, I got the much-anticipated message that I was the winner. Now everyone can enjoy it, too”
This was the first “Concoct a Colada Contest” by Cheeseburger in Paradise, with a focus on guests entering their culinary concoctions for a chance to win.
