Dec. 21, 2012, marks the end of the Mayan Calendar and to some people that means the end of the world.

Casa Noble Tequila disagrees with that notion and in honor of National Tequila Day today, Feb. 22, celebrated marketer and mixologist David Yan pays tribute to the event with a new recipe called "The Mayan Margarita."

"Maybe the end of the world on the Mayan calendar was really a practical joke by the Mayans who simply ran out of room on the round stone tablet," says Yan. "Because it is National Margarita Day tomorrow, we felt like we should not wait to find out. In honor and the hope for new beginnings, we developed this delicious new margarita."

The making of the Margarita can be seen on YouTube at http://youtu.be/Cw-asKc6Uig. It was filmed on location at noted restaurant La Tequila: Comida Mexicana in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The recipe and preparation is as follows:

2 oz Casa Noble Crystal
2 oz Grapefruit juice (hand squeezed)
1 oz Lime juice
1 oz Tangerine juice
3/4 oz Agave nectar
Teaspoon of Tajin ground chili powder
Dry hibiscus flowers

Mix all ingredients in a shaker; add one scoop of ice and shake until fingers are cold. Serve strained in short glass filled with ice, and the rim garnished with a touch of agave nectar and Tajin chili powder. Place a dried hibiscus flower as garnish on top of the ice.

Yan adds, "So from our Noble House, Casa Noble, to yours, raise your glasses to the years ahead and many more to come. Salud!"

The deliciously simple Mayan Margarita is a fabulous way to celebrate National Margarita Day.
